Friday, June 18 10 AM–2 PM PST | 36 Stars Live!
On Friday, members of the Edwardian Society of Oregon and myself will re-enact this famous photo at the historic Stephens-Crawford House in Oregon City, which was the first territorial capital of Oregon and also the end of the historic Oregon Trail. Thirty-six stars will be sewn onto a suffrage flag via the livestream, and as the stars are sewn I’ll share the history of the state, including when the star was added and other important facts about women in the suffrage movement. There will be an Alice Paul interpreter to tell the stories of this important milestone, plus maybe even a couple surprises! We’ll end the event with all of us posing like the photo you see above.
