2021 – All Dates Subject to Change
Friday, June 18 10 AM–2 PM PST | 36 Stars Live!
On Friday, members of the Edwardian Society of Oregon and myself will re-enact this famous photo at the historic Stephens-Crawford House in Oregon City, which was the first territorial capital of Oregon and also the end of the historic Oregon Trail. Thirty-six stars will be sewn onto a suffrage flag via the livestream, and as the stars are sewn I’ll share the history of the state, including when the star was added and other important facts about women in the suffrage movement. There will be an Alice Paul interpreter to tell the stories of this important milestone, plus maybe even a couple surprises! We’ll end the event with all of us posing like the photo you see above. To watch the event, RSVP through the event page here on Facebook by clicking here.
Saturday, July 17, 2 PM PST | Philip Foster Farm
Join Cece for a musical journey into the history of the women’s suffrage movement, part of Philip Foster Farm’s annual Mary Charlotte’s Garden Party. Cece’s concert program Centennial of Suffrage consists of nearly a dozen songs that reflect the fight to secure the right to vote for American women, opening an entertaining and illuminating window on a critical moment in American history. Check back soon for event and ticket details.
Saturday, August 21 – 12 PM PST | Women Across the Water: How British and American Women Won the Vote
Join Cecelia “Cece” Otto and Fiona-Jane Weston for an encore performance of their virtual journey into the history of the Suffrage Movement, filled with songs, stories and unique insights into how the struggle played out simultaneously in Great Britain and the United States—with music providing an unlikely bond between women activists separated by an ocean, but united in purpose.
More to come as details are being finalized for other events — stay tuned!!
